This class will be an intensive in advanced scene work. Topics will include two and three person scenes, group scenes, as well as exercises in shaping group mind and ensemble building. There will be constructive feedback from the instructor in ways of side coaching, scene analysis, and emails detailing individual notes based on the student's performance and application of the tools and techniques discuss in the classroom. The class culminates with each student leaving the term with a specific sense of what their strengths are as individual players, ensemble players, as well as attainable goals to work towards in the future. There is one performance, plus the Student Showcase.
Please note: You must have completed two levels of CORE, as well as have AUDITIONED to be admitted into this class.
Our class minimum is 6 people. Some smaller classes may need to be combined. If so, we'll ask if you can make the other date of the class and move you over. If you can't move to another date then we will refund your tuition and inform you the week before.
This class will be held at the Boys and Girls Club across the street from Curious Comedy Theater.

A native of Portland, OR, Jay showcases his broad comedic prowess in several different rodeos around town. Jay is not only a cast member of Curious Comedy Theater but also performs in the power house troupe, J Names (SF Sketchfest, Out of Bounds Comedy Fetival).
There are many facets to Jay’s comedic talents. He is not only a performer, but a multitalented comedian with a knack for storytelling as well. Jay has been featured on LIVE WIRE!, Kevin Allison' RISK!, Mortified, and has performed with Kevin McDonald (The Kids in the Hall) and Colin Mochrie (Who’s Line is it Anyway?).
In addition to being a performer, Jay also is an award winning film maker and knows a thing or two about producing. His most recently produced film short won Best in Humor at Dan Savage’s HUMP! Film Festival.
