Chad Parsons

Chad Parsons

Chad first started performing improv in 2014 when he finally moved to a town large enough to have a comedy scene. He now finds that he rarely wants to do anything else and is happily overwhelmed with all the opportunities Portland provides. He performs regularly with the indie teams Tunnel, YEP!, and Tickets to Heaven, and is also half of the absurdist duo Database. In between all this Chad also writes sketches, monologues, and joins in on any podcast he can. He joined Curious as part of the Mt. Hood team at the beginning of 2016.

Christian Parsons

Christian Parsons

Christian Parsons began performing improv as a freshman at Utah State University, where he performed with the professional team The Antics, in Cache Valley. After 2 years working as a Character Performer at Walt Disney World, Christian obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Film at Portland State University. Since then, Chris has been a standing ensemble member at the Brody Theater as one of its youngest members to be invited, and he teaches theater basics to grade school children as a freelance Teaching Artist all over Portland, as well as at Northwest Children’s Theater. Christian is extremely happy and honored to be working with the incredibly talented people at Curious Comedy, and with the Hood House Team. All that he is, he owes to his wife, his twin brother and family. No, he and Chad are not related.

Laura Sams

Laura Sams

Laura is a writer, filmmaker, composer and educator. She has a Master’s Degree in Science Education, where her advanced courses included exactly zero classes about improv comedy. But later, she took classes at the Curious Comedy training center and got hooked. When Laura is not lurking around Curious Comedy, she is running Sisbro Studios (with her brother Rob), creating wildlife films, television, children’s books, music and curriculum that trick people into learning while they are laughing. She has created projects for the Smithsonian Channel, the Jim Henson Company, Animal Planet and the National Science Foundation. She has a new movie about sharks called The Shark Riddle. She promises it will give you sweet, shark-infested dreams.

Matt Lask

Matt Lask

In Chicago, Matt simultaneously studied and learned improv at the original iO and sketch writing at Second City, then got his performing chops on the patios of cafes and on the second floors of sports bars. Upon moving to Portland, Matt joined the Brody Theater ensemble. In 2016, he became a member of the Curious Comedy ensemble, playing on one of the two Mainstage House Teams, Hood. Aside from Hood, he can be seen performing in Showdown at Curious, as well as all over town with his group The Honeytones. He's very excited and gracious to be a part of the Curious community, and the Portland improv community as a whole, as well as to have found an art that allows him to devote his stupid amount of energy.

Tyler Quinn

Tyler Quinn

Tyler has been improvising off and on since his birth. (He notably performed from 2006-2010 with Dartmouth College's Dog Day Players.) After four-year improv-free stint in New York City, Tyler is happy to be back on stage here at Curious Comedy Theater. He owes it all to his family, his partner Willa, and the Sister Act films.
